We live in a world of noise….both internal noise and external. And we can easily go through days, and even weeks, without a moment of silence. And for some of us, when we do encounter silence or we’re alone in solitude, we feel uncomfortable and have to fill the silence as quickly as we can. The problem is, in the midst of this non-stop noise and distraction, we cannot develop hearts that are attuned to ourselves or to God. Through the ancient rhythms of silence and solitude, we will become people who reconnect with the voice of our heart, are able to resist the voice of the Enemy, and are attuned to the love-giving voice of God.
