Kara Chambers in Bolivia
“Word Made Flesh” serves Jesus among people who live in some of the most vulnerable, poverty-stricken and oppressive situations in the world. One of the communities they serve is in El Alto, Bolivia, and Meadowbrook is part of supporting their ministry to women and children.
Kara Chambers, who grew up at Meadowbrook, serves as the Programs Coordinator for the Women’s programs in El Alto. Through their ministry center they offer fellowship, discipleship, skill-building workshops, therapy and support in times of crisis. It is a place of healing – a refuge – for women and children.
Meadowbrook has chosen to partner with this group through financial support and through personal relationship with staff and the families they serve. In April a team from Meadowbrook will be hosting a retreat for women and their children. This retreat, in a safe, healthy setting, will provide them the opportunity to leave their neighborhoods for a time of refreshment, fun, and new friendships with Jesus-followers who love them unconditionally and want them to experience the Love and Hope that Jesus brings.
