  •  Forum Reflections

November 7 we held our Annual Forum for the first time in the Gathering Place.

With every "first" we have in our new facility I continue to be moved to gratitude. Our first Forum was such an occasion. But more than sentimentality about the room of our meeting was the realization of what many of you have gone through in order for us to be where we are. You've prayed, heard from God, participated in LIFE BUILDING with sacrificial and generous giving, and had to trust God about how He would provide for you.
I'm grateful for the "Christ-formation" things God has done in you through this journey.

I was also blessed by the way that you conducted yourselves in our conversations regarding vision, strategy, mission and the funds necessary to underwrite the ministry. You affirmed our direction and said yes to the call to step up in serving, reaching out and giving. If you've not been a part of other congregations in ministry business sessions in the past then you may not see what a remarkable fellowship you are.

Finally, let me highlight the obvious that the cultural current around us is stronger than ever. Godly living takes intentionality and Spirit-empowered decision making to not drift along. I'm stirred to see you living in concert with God and ordering your lives around Him.

Of course not everyone is keeping their "head above water" right now. God will use our fellowship to bless our friends as we remain humbly available to Him.

The coming 12 months we're "Going Father and Deeper". This is frightening and exciting. Here we go........

    Dessert Theater December 14

One of the highlights of the Christmas season will be the Meadowbrook Dessert Theater, Sunday December 14 at 7:00 p.m.

The Gathering Place will be transformed into a beautiful holiday setting. We'll be entertained and inspired by the professional players from Taproot Theater performing "A Midwinter Evening". Enjoy singing the songs of the season and delight your palate with delicious desserts!

Most of all, give the gift of our Dessert Theater to your friends by inviting them to join you and your Meadowbrook family for this memorable evening.

The Dessert Theater is an evening for adults and childcare will not be provided so make your plans early so that you don't miss all the fun.

"A Midwinter Evening" tells a Christmas Eve story. As his shop is invaded by Christmas carolers, greedy children and impatient church-goers, Joseph is reminded of his loneliness and distaste for the Christmas holidays. As he heads home for a quiet night alone, he encounters a young girl whose joy in the face of difficult circumstances touches his heart, helping Joseph rediscover the true meaning of the holidays
    Thanksgiving Service, Tuesday November 25

The annual Thanksgiving Service will be held for the first time in our own Gathering Place! Join us Tuesday, November 25 for this "can't miss" holiday dinner and worship gathering.

Dinner will begin at 6:00 p.m. and worship at 6:45 p.m. A nursery will be provided for those 5 and under.

Meadowbrook will provide the main entrée. Please bring your favorite side dishes as described below-
Last name beginning A-G, potato or rice dish
Last name beginning H-L, vegetable dish
Last name beginning M-R, salads (green, fruit, etc)
    Last name beginning S-Z, desserts

Most of all, join us for an evening of giving thanks to God for all His blessings of the past year.

    Phase 2 Fund Established

Our LIFE BUILDING commitments to give and grow continue to be consistent and strong. Thank you and thank the Lord.

After much prayer and deliberation concerning how and when to develop the remaining warehouse space, your Elders and Leadership Community have established a Phase 2 Fund.

We need about $100,000 in order to develop our remaining space for ministries to children, youth, recovery and community services. Some have indicated a desire to give over and above regular tithes and LB commitments in order to reach this goal. We could use everyone's help.

Beginning immediately you can write in the memo of your check or place your gift in an envelope marked "Phase 2" and we'll begin to save toward developing this essential ministry space.

This is part of "Going Father and Deeper" this year!
